The legendary Cuban percussionist Jose Luis Quintana (Changuito) was born on January 18, 1948 in Casablanca, across the bay from Havana, Cuba; he embarked upon his musical career in 1956 at the tender age of eight, Changuito joined the band Los Van Van on 1970; this band became one of the most popular Cuban orchestras in the world, gaining international recognition and fame. Along with Los Van Van (bandleader Juan Formell), Changuito’s percussion prowess revolutionized both technique and artistic approach towards congas, timbales, bongo, and drum kit. Changuito developed a drum kit style that bridged Cuban dance styles and American rock that spawned the Songo style.

El próximo 11 de mayo se llevará a cabo el lanzamiento de Apostles Review y de Puesta de sol en el Café la petite Marche 5035 St- Denis (Entre Laurier y St Joseph). Apostles Review es una revista semestral de literatura hispano-canadiense que publica cuentos, poesías y ensayos escritos en Canadá, en español, francés e inglés. Puesta de Sol es la más reciente obra del escritor argentino Pablo Urbanyi, una historia que seduce e inquieta al lector porque logra expresar lo trágico mediante una inesperada y eficaz gama de tonos narrativos: el simultáneamente emotivo y distanciado, el patético, el humorístico, el irónico hasta la crueldad. La experiencia de inevitable fatalidad no es nueva de la narrativa argentina, según afirma la crítica literaria Cheyla Samuelson.
